Jeff joined our team in October 2021 and is responsible for establishing and growing community partnerships with individuals, Churches and businesses while overseeing day-to-day operations. With a Wofford College degree in Business Economics, he comes from a 31-year career with Duer / Carolina Coil working primarily in Sales and Business Development. He and his wife, Betsy have 2 daughters and 1 son. He enjoys meeting new people, experiencing new places and spending time outdoors. With a focus on feeding people physically and spiritually, while promoting good stewardship of the resources we have all been given, Jeff is very excited to join the Ruth’s Gleanings family!

Terri joined Ruth’s Gleanings in 2019, first as a volunteer and then as a staff member. She manages food box orders and payments, along with various record keeping and billing processes, and is a vital part of all things FoodShare.

She spent 32 years of her career in medical transcription, then downshifted to part-time work in early retirement and has had several interesting jobs including dispatch in Campus Safety at Wofford College, delivery positions, and transcription. Terri has played piano for 64 years and currently plays at United Baptist Church. She also volunteers with Spartanburg Housing Authority at Archibald Rutledge Apartments. She endeavors to make all our customers feel welcome and appreciated.

Forest joined Ruth’s Gleanings in the summer of 2020 and handles the distribution of FoodShare boxes and manages the seed bank. Outside of his role at Ruth’s Gleanings, Forest manages a 30-acre cattle farm and several rental properties in the Wellford/Lyman area. Forest is married to Kacey, and they love all things outdoors. He has a life-long passion for hunting, fishing, and farming. Forest believes in the importance of being self-sustainable. He is compassionate, kind and generous. He is motivated by the opportunity to aid others in their journey towards self-sustainability and a healthier lifestyle.

Kathryn is an avid gardener, cook and seamstress, and she has been gleaning for as long as she can remember. This position at Ruth’s Gleanings seems to be tailor made for her! She gets to rescue food, feed people and help others. In her past, she taught elementary school in Los Angeles, taught German at Oakbrook Prep here in Spartanburg ( levels 4th grade thru AP German) and owned an artist boutique The Kindred Spirits in downtown Spartanburg. She also loves to knit and listen to audio books when she’s not playing with her 6 grandchildren. Kathryn has been married to Scott for 38 years and together they have 4 grown children. Kathryn has been heard saying “I love my job!” many times and she’ll be sure to invite you to stay for lunch if you come visit.

Alaina joined Ruth’s Gleanings in 2025 as a volunteer, and then as the Food Programs Coordinator in 2026. She manages the FoodShare and FoodHub programs. Originally from southeast Missouri, Alaina moved to SC a few years ago for a engineering role at a start-up company. Outside of her role, she gardens, reads, studies Spanish, and spends time with her husband and their dog Willa. Her passions lie in service, food systems, and regenerative organic agriculture.

Michael is an engineering and chemical manufacturing professional that served in many different roles for Milliken Chemical for 40 years. With a degree in chemical engineering from Clemson University, he has extensive experience in chemical process engineering, project management, technology management, plant management and leading technical process development/scale-up teams. Michael has a passion and skill for growing heirloom varieties of fruits and vegetables and grows them in organized structures that maximize space and beauty.  His love of tomatoes and dahlias is ever-present in his beautifully abundant gardens. As the Farm Manager for Full Harvest Farm, Michael is responsible for the blueprints, implementation, volunteer oversight, education development and teaching of all programs at the farm. He oversees the community development that engages with the planting, growing, harvesting, preservation, and maintenance of the farm.
